It is time once again for an arbitrary, unresearched list, the lifeblood of the Internet. Since people are still up in arms about the BP oil LEAK, I figured it was time to set the record straight. Is it a major disaster, no doubt, but the worst? I think there is a fair amount of competition. Earth has a long history, after all. So let's just look at the BrainLazy approved list of worst black eyes ever given to mother earth. Let's just say that most people leave a few things off...

Unintelligent Design

There are two schools of thought on the subject of the origin of species... Well, I suppose it is one school of faith and one school of thought. I am speaking, of course, of intelligent design versus evolution. Now, I'm not going to open up this can of worms for discussion on BrainLazy. Far more able minds are bashing their heads together about that one. No, I'm here to propose a far more realistic stance. They are BOTH wrong. Some creatures defy science AND religion.

Bored Games

Risk Factions recently came out and, as a result, most of the people on my friends list have been after me to play it. Now, I'm not going to say that Factions isn't good. It is as good as a Risk game can possibly BE. But that is roughly equivalent to being the most delicious pine cone in the world. In my opinion, board games aren't just bad, they are psychological torture. Social experiments designed to destruction test the limits of polite society. And I've got supporting evidence.

Personal space is, well, a personal thing. Different people expect different amounts of it from different people. Some cultures are touchy-feely, all hugs and hands on the face and spooning strangers. Others save handshakes for the honeymoon, preferring to perform intercourse by mail. Most of society is a smidge more moderate, of course, but there are lines everywhere, and since you usually don't know where one is until you cross it, let's look at a one in particular.

Imagine you've just hit your thumb with a hammer. There are a few things you are likely to do. Probably you'll want to punish the hammer. There will be much jumping about, followed by giving your thumb your complete and undivided attention. And, of course, you'll say some very specific, very profane words, very loudly. This happens automatically. Your brain doesn't even consult you. Why does it happen? I'll give you a hint... my body is an engine, and it runs on pain.
