Hey, remember a while ago when I took a brief moment from all of our groundbreaking, hard-hitting, and other-adjective-having game and entertainment coverage to plug a book written by one of our very own Blazers? Sure you do. Well, I’m doing it again! Only this time, it isn’t selfishness, but camaradrie, duty, and other fine and upstanding things that have motivated me. Bypass Gemini has been made a part of the recently launched Big Bang Bundle, the first bundle of what I hope will be many from the new StoryBundle site. For those of you who are uninitiated, take a look at the story behind StoryBundle (see what I did there?) And for those of you who are too busy to go around clicking links, here’s the gist. You know humble bundle? That, only with books. Simple, huh?
For each bundle, the good folks behind StoryBundle, (including the wonderful Jason Chen) will handpick and carefully vet a cluster of quality indie titles for your reading enjoyment, usually sticking to a theme. You’ll be able to pay anywhere between 1 and 100 smackers for the bundle, and you’ll get to choose how the money gets split between the authors and the site. A single click (or three, if you’re choosy) can even send 10% of the purchase price to charity. If you’re looking for motivation to pay above the $1 mark, how’s this; cross the “Bonus Threshold” and you’ll get one or more additional goodies for your generosity. Naturally the names and such will change each time, but here’s the first round, a glorious gathering of Science Fiction titles.
Journey to Hart’s Halo by Lou Hood
And if you go for the bonus
Unstable Prototypes by Joseph Lallo
Missing Signals by Michael Kayatta
Do yourself a favor (okay, do US a favor) and check them out. There is very little risk, and very much awesome. How can you beat that?
